Security Alert!

Recently there has been an increase in the number of door-to-door solicitors working our neighborhood. While many of these are no doubt legitimate, there may be others who are simply casing the area looking for "soft targets" for break-ins and robbery. Our neighborhood is designated a "no soliciting" neighborhood by the KC North Patrol, so they will respond quickly to complaint calls about troublesome solicitors.

The City does NOT license solicitors, so any permits or licenses you may be shown are bogus. Further, solicitors are required by law to comply with posted "No Soliciting" signs on your door or windows. Don't hesitate to post these notices, and to call 911 if solicitors bother you.

Recycling

As you know, Kansas City picks up recyclable materials other than glass on our regular trash collection day. If you don't have one of those lovely blue bins for your recyclables or need a new or additional bin, you can pick one up at Price Chopper or Westlake's Ace Hardware for a nominal fee. Pitch in!

KC Yard Waste Disposal

Remember that yard waste cannot be disposed of in your regular trash. However, KCMO residents can use the free Leaves & Brush Drop-Off site at 4707 Deramus Ave. (just on the south end of the Chouteau Bridge) year round, Saturdays from 8AM to 6PM.

Bulky Item Pickup

Kansas City residents can dispose of bulky items 6 times per year. Our neighborhood is in Zone 6, so pickup occurs in even months (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct & Dec) on the 6th day or within 3 days thereafter. New rules require that you call in advance to request a pickup.
